Whilst some of us were enjoying what looks like the last of the summer sun on Sunday the 4th of September, a brave few students of Wisewarrior journeyed out to the National gradings at Winchcombe. In case you didn’t realize, all gradings are now done in the afternoon. The extra hours in bed certainly seem to have made the difference, and the students from the Wisewarrior Cheltenham dojo excelled themselves, with positive comment made by all the grading committee, once again we had students grading in Aikido, Karate and advanced weapons, and always so impressive when we have beginners going to their first gradings!

So well done and congratulations to those who just graded successfully: Kohighs Kai-shin and Chris, Dohighs Andrej and Wayne . And keep up the good work all those who will be grading in December.

As you know we have been running the two training evenings at Dean Close School for a while now and are getting a solid attendance to both sessions.
Judging by the standard of our students at this grading the extra training and personal tuition now available is paying off!

Typically the Monday sessions at the moment have a slightly lower numbers which gives us as instructors the flexibility to try some different types of lessons, even some sword if any of you are interested in this amazing art.
Our general training format of a strong group session running throughout the evening with students being taken individually for personal tuition is working very well indeed..
The new format has also enabled us to pursue more ‘partner’ based training which again is beginning to show well throughout all the students’ practices. Partner work encourages good spirit, etiquette and discipline as well as first class self-defence skills.

December brings the last grading opportunity for this year and we are looking at a high number of students this time around to go forward, to include several brown and black belt candidates, so work hard!

A quick reminder that, with just over four weeks to go, details are now posted for how to book a free place on the Art of Sword workshop. Also on the main Wisewarrior website there are now details on how to book a paid place on the workshop in case any of you have friends or family that want to attend.

Stay tuned for the “Art of Sword’ promo video!!!
