Our last weeks blog regarding the; ‘demonstration night’ (July 31st!), has certainly focused some minds amongst you!
Of course this will be the required date you will be expected to do your 1st part grading if you are hoping to be put forward to the national gradings in September. But as you know we also intend it to be a great opportunity for everyone to step up and perform something. Whether thats a specialy written display or just kata 1!
So to just whet your appetite; we already have Mark San going for a sword grading, plus Hayley San and Nick San performing specially written sword demonstrations, and Dohigh Chris has already been booked for his brown belt 1st part on that night! Stay tuned for news on more centre stage bookings! :-)……Who needs Glastonbury?!
So Monday saw a lot of work towards those sword demonstrations, while this Wednesday found Sensei Richard holding the fort. What with all other available members of teaching team held up, buying houses or moving in to them! It was left to Richard San to run the session, not a big ask for a 4th Dan; as both Richard and Tim San have many years of experience, with both having run national seminars and weekend courses in martial arts over the years, so they both know their way around a dojo!

So on this night Richard San took the opportunity to go through all the basic aikido requirements that might be asked for, on 1st Part gradings: timely indeed for all those who caught this great session.
