Well all the Black Belts must have still been basking in the after glow of their advanced seminar this week as we had some cracking lessons in the dojo, especially on the Wednesday night session, there was definitely something in the air!
Certainly for Richard San and Tor San who seemed to be having just too much fun together! These two Sen’s have been teaching together ever since Tor San was a brown belt in a little Scout Hall dojo way across town, too many years ago to bring up!
On this night Tor San started the ball rolling with an Aikido-Te class for the advanced Dohighs; teaching takedowns in combat scenarios. Well that lesson caught Richard San’s attention, and he just couldn’t resist getting on the mat with Tor San, and the band were reformed! For well over an hour it was physical mayhem, but a really good off the wall concept improvement lesson for the Aikido-Te students.
Most of the time instructors are of course involved in teaching their own personal lessons through out the dojo, but tonight seemed to just go another way! With the partnership of Tim San and Mark San in the other half of the dojo running their great Karate class for the beginners, it seem to be ‘double acts’ all that night.
But I think Richard San and Tor San had the best gags, as you know with Aikido…it’s all about the timing! ☺
