As i’m sure you must all know the main event of last week was the ‘Performance Night’, well done to all of you for making this a great night, we hope you have all read the write up (…link) from that night, and for all of you who made it along; give yourself a pat on the back!

Gotcha!

Gotcha!

It was a real treat for Richard San and Tim San to watch you all do your ‘thing!’ And of course congratulations to Nick San and Sempai Lucy on thier blackbelt first parts, and to Kohigh Emma on her yellow belt, it was quite an occasion and she wasn’t phased at all by the night…great spirit!

As always with these occasions there is more to it than meets the eye, we hope you all enjoyed the exhilaration of a good plan coming together. But as your instructors we are pleased by the huge increase in each students ability, be it in a white belt or the huge steps forward in confidence and physicality Sempai Lucy has made towards her Aikido-Te black belt in recent weeks. But there is nothing magical in this improvement, its just practice! Any skill set you want to acquire is just a numbers game; how many punches or kicks have you thrown, or how many katas or  sword cuts you have been through. So the night works alone on just that! Seeing all those students turn up for those extra free lessons we are always offering or practicing at home a little more, even just thinking about your martial arts more throughout the day even helps! Remember its a skill for life, once you’ve learnt it; no one can take it away from you! 🙂Performance Night

Last reminder for the Christmas meal, just a few more people need to pay the rest of their monies to Richard San so they can eat drink and be merry on the 4th of December, thank you!

See you in the dojo!
