Yet another busy week as the gradings loom ever closer.
On Monday night Sempai Kash was in charge of the Aikido group and despite being a bit sore from his latest ‘Spartan challenge run’ he did a great job! This is becoming a very useful exercise for the dojo’s up and coming teachers, and the lower grades are enjoying the varied teaching styles.
More Nunchuka’s this week for D.Jose and ably taught by Nick San, the waza is next to come.
The main event of the night was a high grade combat class run by Richard San, who taught ‘body shots’ to take a man down! This was taught using the ‘conveyor-belt’ system, if you weren’t there ask!!
Wednesday night had the usual suspects practicing their ‘slow gi change’ tactics, however Tim San was having none of it, chucking Dohigh Chris in with only one leg in his hakama! 😉
Syllabus, syllabus and more syllabus with some exceptional performances right across the board here, in particular from Sempai Andreyz and Mark San who both really turned things up a notch with their Kata and Waza work.
Kohigh Matthew got a 2 hour private lesson from Richard San (WTF?) while Tor San grilled and drilled the ‘soon to grade’ Dohighs.
The clock is ticking guys so keep up the practice.
Finally, this Saturday was the Wisewarrior Self Defence Workshop. An excellent turnout and our thanks go to Hayley San for her assistance in running the course. Lots of valuable lessons and concepts covered with the main theme having a strong bias toward the all important ‘mind set’ of personal safety.
Check the ‘Spotlight blog’ now for Hayley Sans write-up of this workshop.
