This Monday although a bit quite because of the snow, had a definite weapons theme with sword and Jo, Richard San was a teaching a new high grade sword kata to Hayley San as well as refreshing some older ‘Jo forms’ with Dohigh Chris, who said sen’s can’t multi-task!
It was lovely to see Andrey San back in the dojo this week being run through our 1st Dan kata by Tim San along side the other high grades, his travels haven’t seemed to have slowed him down too much!
Thanks to every one who took some of our new posters, lets hope you can find some good locations for them?! With all of our budding teachers about we need more white belts for them to teach! On this note our new students seemed to be enjoying their first lessons this Wednesday, always great to see the reactions of a beginner when they realize they are having a 1 hour private lesson with black belt, and then another hour as a part of group session along side some really helpful and ‘nice’ higher grade students, tired amazement springs to mind! But this is the best way to teach martial arts, so as to achieve skill with safe power and of course…enjoyment!
Other news: BAMA grading dates have been announced on the web site, also we are in the process of launching a new website ( IT is never still in Wisewarrior!) look out for this within the next month or so, and lastly we hope you have had a chance to check out the new blogs on ‘Kata’ and ‘Sword’ by Tim San and Richard San respectively, the topics are chosen to give you guys a better understanding of the subjects you are studying, comments and questions via their blogs are always welcomed by the Sen’s.
Lastly, a big thanks to all those students who made it through the snow to the dojo this week, lets hope there’s no more disruption this week!
See you all in the dojo!
