Two blog updates in one week!!!
So we’ll keep this one brief…
Well celebrations are in order: First off we had a couple of part one gradings happen this week. On Monday Dohigh Tam took and passed the first half of her purple belt in Sword. After many frustrations of missing lessons and gradings through operations and illness it was wonderful to see her back on her best form. We had planned to include some Bokken (wooden sword) sparing as part of the grading test, but she was so strong in her display work that in the end it wasn’t at all necessary, so we shall expect to see extra bokken sparring for her 2nd part grading in October!!
On Wednesday D. Lucy passed her part one Aikido blue belt with an awesome display of overcoming warrior spirit, plus precise technical Aikido, we sensei’s could ask for no more! She is certainly very much on track for the December gradings, as are the rest of the people that are due to go. Congratulations to both on all the great work and on passing. We hope to get the rest of the part one gradings done over the next three to four weeks for anyone due to go in December, that includes the blackbelt part ones, so that shall be an event for the dojo to witness!
Our second big event is that, as of today, our @_wisewarrior Twitter account now has three followers. Unfortunately these also happen to be three of your regular instructors. Don’t forget that this will start to become our main means of communicating any news, events and Youtube updates! So if you have a twitter account please start following us!
Other news for the week is that we have been approached to run a Ladies self defence course. If this goes ahead and any of you want the experience of helping out then let us know and we can keep you updated on how this develops. We may also run a demo as part of this course, so demo team… start stocking up with pain killers!
