Monday nights focus session was, I think a break-through for all those taking gradings in December. The main thrust of the evening was to develop this focus, that what we call Kimi! And by the end of the session everyone was looking really sharp. Performing movements is one thing but those movements enhanced by an eagle-like sharpness of focus really is something else. They were moving faster, holding firmer posture and projecting extremely well. Focus really is the thread that holds martial arts training together. And this was reinforced by the sword class during the first hour. The sword students were conducting themselves in such a way as to literally ooze focus and concentration and their example was of great benefit to all in attendance. Excellent!

I learnt that good focus can be the difference between a good performance and not…. Sensai Nick did not know my bo staff kata, but knew when I didn’t know it too! All from my focus. Great lesson.
