Because of the great response we had in 2011 to our workshops, we can confirm we will be definitely running more of these, but as promised we would like your input into what workshops you would like us to run, so have a look at the themes below and pick your 1st and 2nd choices and let us know via the blog, facebook, twitter, text or even just verbally!
We hope also you can see the variety of courses we would like to offer you this year, all free of charge of course! So get choosing.
– Sword – bokken based sparring.
– Sword – blade work.
-Knife defence.
-The arts of Ikebana and philosophy.(samurai flower arrangements)
-Philosophy and the art of koan writing
-Nunchuka.
– The arts of calligraphy and sword
– Jo staffTomfa
– Kumite (Karate sparring)
– Movement in meditation.
– Self defence.
– Martial Arts circuit training.
If something in the list catches your eye let us know so we can start the ball rolling. Also talk to everybody else and see if you can twist their arm (we can show you how!) into “voting” with you. And most importantly see if you know of any non-students who might be interested in any of the sessions!
Finally on the subject of demos, we have two local businesses that we are currently talking to about the possibility of running demos. The last demo we ran was in the Isbourne Centre, where we were very well received with the “spiritual samurai” exhibition.
Other than the content of the demo itself, one of the most rewarding aspects of the day, for us, was that there were so many new faces in the demo team. If you were part of the day and want to carry on being involved with demo work, then please let us know or likewise if you want to give it a go! We will try our best to arrange the demo to run on a day suitable for everybody who wants to be involved, and please ask around and see if you know of anywhere, (gyms, health-clubs, workplaces etc.) that might like to see our wisewarrior demo team in action!
